How do I determine the start and end points of a run of datapoints above or below a another datapoint (the series mean) when there might be many runs above or below the mean in the data series.

e.g. there are 100 result datapoints, the mean is 50, a run of 8 result datapoints above the mean might start at point 10 and end on 22 how do I flag the 8th point above the mean after 10 and start the count again when the series data point returns to the mean.

array formulas?
