I got a master sheet linked to other sheets,

everytime the file is being open the dialog is comming "would you like to update the links yes/no "
I don´t want this dialog to pop up.
The linking should just update automatically.

I tried with this macro, but did not work, what did I do wrong ?

Sub Workbook_Open()
Application.AskToUpdateLinks = False
End Sub

I know I can just turn off this dialog under:
->tools -> options -> edit -> tickbox (ask to update links)

but since I am sitting on diferent workstations it would be easier if the macro would solve this.

Thanks a lot in advance for you help.

best regards

Try this

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
ThisWorkbook.SaveLinkValues = True
Application.AskToUpdateLinks = False
End Sub

thanks

Thanks but that didn´t help.

I just saw in a german forum, they say it is not possible to do this with a macro, because befor the macro runs the check for links has alredy been done ( like done within the second the file is beeing opend)

so I guess I just have to live with the dialog, or use the tickbox
under options.

Thanks again anyway for you help
