Is it possible in a chart, for the same series, to have as an example, the first 4 values as vertical bars, and the rest of the series as a line type?
I have a chart that for the first 4 values reads the last 4 year totals, and then for the remainder of the chart, another 15 values providing the last 15 months. It is the year totals I would like to depict as bars, and the months as a line type.

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
No I don't think so, but:

That was the answer I was afraid of, which is effectively setting up a new series. The file I have has over 500 charts and over 700 dynamic ranges which I was hoping to avoid having to change. Thank you anyway!

While in my first answer, I split the data into two columns, there is another way without splitting the data, but by making the series as follows: Series 1 is highlighted with the usual highlight, the green area is the range selected for the second series - but those three blank cells, don't have to be there, they can be anywhere as long as they appear first in the reference eg.:
=(Sheet6!$A$20:$A$22,Sheet6!$D$67:$D$82)
where A20:A22 were blank.

Thanks for that. It won't help me in my current issue, but I will be able to use in other reports, and for building any new ones, which is great. Cheers.
