Directory probelm

hi all,
i built a program in VBA, it opens anyfile in direcotry "C:\programs\mytest" and the program also run some C++ programs using CMD , my problem is if i change the direcotry name or try to perform the program out of the directory...it fails,
how can i detect the direcotry automatically and assign it to lets say variable my_directory = direcotry of the opend file
and make my program run their without any problems
