Disable _Change() upon initialization of userform

I have several textboxes in a userform with _change() events attached and the first thing that happens in the sub is a function that makes sure the user inputs a real number (as opposed to a letter) without any $ attached. When the userform is initialized, it is loaded with the saved data, which is formatted like $5,000, which trips the number-checking function, which gives me an message "please key in a number", when there is already a number in there.

So, my question is: Is it possible to temporarily deactivate the _change event ONLY upon initialization? Then after initialization, turn it on again?

Does "tabbing" into a textbox, or hitting "enter" to move on to another textbox, or clicking the mouse/cursor in a textbox trigger a _keypress event?

An unrelated question. Is it possible to set a general setting either in the userform properties or the userform's VB that would make an entire cell's contents (say it had numbers like 12345 in it) light up/be selected such that when the user started keying in a new number, ALL of the old numbers go away immediately and only the new ones show. I realize that if the user clicks on the white space in a textbox all of the numbers are selected (like I want), but if the user clicks on the middle of the number, you must backspace or delete to change the number. I want to set it up so that where ever the user clicks on the textbox, the entire contents are selected. Hitting the tab key and the enter key work perfectly now -- they both select the whole number.

Pushing any key (Return, Tab, Delete, or a character key) down triggers the KeyDown event.
Raising that key triggers the KeyUp event.

If the Key is a character key, the KeyPress event is also triggered.

The order of those events is
KeyDown
KeyPress
KeyUp.

An unrelated question. Is it possible to set a general setting either in the userform properties or the userform's VB that would make an entire cell's contents

(It is not a cell, it is a text box. Mixing terminology can confuse people.)

Unrelated answer:
You could set the text box's .EnterFieldBehaviour to fmEnterFieldBehaviorSelectAll. And put this in the Enter event

Once the text box has the focus, the user can use the mouse (or the cursor keys) to position the cursor where they want.
