Disabling pages in threads

Hi. Another question.
Is there a way to disable pages in threads, so that you can see the whole thread at once? So there will be no need to change from page 1 to page 2... and oh no the answer I was looking for was in the third page...
I didn't see any options in the settings.
IMHO it would be very practical for the user to not have the thread divided into pages.

Now, having read the thread in the link, would it not be more efficient to get rid of the pages for the whole forum then?
Let's say i want to help in a thread that already is 3 pages long. To read it completely i will have to generate 3 queries and possibly more if i have to go back and forth.
If instead the whole thread would be in a single page I'll generate 1 query. A bigger one of course but just 1 and no going back and forth generating more queries.
Just a thought
