Excel 2007, workbook set to calculation to automatic.

My workbook has a worksheet ("Master") including three shapes with each of the shapes setup to display three different cell values. The display of the cell values in the shapes works correctly and updates when cell values change in the "Master" worksheet.

The issue I'm experiencing is that when I create a new worksheet (by copying) from the "Master" worksheet, the text on the shapes does not update when the respective cell values are changed.
Is there a way to correct this issue, so that each time a worksheet is copied from the existing "Master"worksheet, the shapes will correctly display the cell values when the cell values change?

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
After some limited testing, I've learned the source of my problem is the shapes were grouped together. Unknown to me (from my experience), the formula updating in shapes becomes disabled in the copied the worksheet with grouped shapes.
I'd appreciate anyone's feedback by giving it a test to see if you experience the same result.
