Display current month with number in cell

I have following down column A

27

I would like column B to house both number and current month and year
So will read
1/09/11
4/09/11
10/09/11
14/09/11
And so on

=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY()),A1)

...or this

=TODAY()-DAY(TODAY())+A1
