hi all,

im trying to do a calc in excel dividing one number by another to show a %. i want to show a " - " if im dividing 0 by 0. Ive used this:

=IF(V18>0,V18/V23,"-")

but this doesnt account for when im dividing 1 by 0 as i want it to show 0%. Ive tried using if(iserror function but not really getting what i want.

can anyone help.

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Maybe this:

=IF(and(V18>0,v23>0),V18/V23,"-")

Using greater than assumes that neither of these numbers will ever be negative, is that true?

Hope that helps.
