Any help on this would be really appreciated as only a beginner with Excel. (Although a regular observer of this site)

When I copy a sheet from one workbook to another, everything is fine except any drop-down selection fields don't appear, even though the arrow appears whrn the cell is selected. I'm sure there is a simple explanation but as I have hinted, I'm a bit of a prat when it comes to Excel.

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
The drop downs receive there information from a list in the workbook. You must also copy that list to the new Workbook and refer to it in the Data Validation dialog box. It sounds like you've copied the validation, but it is reading a blank list. Select the cell and choose Data Validation to see where the list should be located and copy it there from the first workbook

It works for me if I copy a sheet rather than a range on a sheet.

In your original worksheet select a cell with the dropdown and choose Data, Validation from the menu.

Look at the Source box. Does it refer to a range outside the area you are copying?
