I have a workbook with many dropdown boxes with several choices. However, i want to have the upper choice "blank" so that i can type in manually what i want. But according to Excel it isnt allowed.. :( Is there any way to work around this?

If your list is in A1:A10, keep A1 blank.

That doesnt work. I have a dropdown list where the different choices are inserted from a hidden collumn. However, i have the first blank, but im not allowed to manually type in something here.. On data validation i have in the settings window; Allow "list" and then the cell range. How can i work my way around this?

You can change the Error Alert in the Data Validation to Information or Warning.
