Droplist in TRUE for IF statement

I want to know if you can place a drop down list as the value_if_true for an IF statement.

eg.___A1_______A2______A3
_____Gold_____####___Light
______________________Dark
______________________Middle

(Ignore the lines_)
If A1 were any colour how would i place a formula in A2 that would check what colour A1 was and create a dropdown list from A3 column.
