I'm trying to extract unique entries from a list and always seem to be left with a duplicate entry!

In column "D", I have a list such as...

Pre Sales
Pre Sales
Kickoff
Kickoff
Kickoff
Kickoff
SOW Development
SOW Development
Kickoff
Pre Sales
Kickoff
SOW Development
Project Planning
Customer Travel
SOW Development
Project Planning
Kickoff
Customer Travel

When I run my code to extract the unique entries from this list, I'm left with (in the example below) duplicate entries...

Change Control
Customer Meetings
Customer Travel
Documentation
Draft Config Guide
Implementation
Kickoff
Pre Sales
Pre Sales

Project Management
Project Planning
SOW Development

Here's the code I'm using...

Code:
Range("D2:D1000").AdvancedFilter Action:=xlFilterCopy, CopyToRange:=Range("AA1"), Unique:=True

My questions are:-

1. Why am I still getting duplicate entries in the list?
2. How can I only select cells in column 'D' down to the last row with data so I don't have spaces in the 'unique list'?

Thanks, I'm stumped!!

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)

Is there an easy way to show additional characters/spaces etc or even an option to ignore spaces in the unique test??
