Duplicate Sheets?

For some unknown reason all my Worksheets duplicated: Sheet1 became Sheet11, Sheet2 became Sheet 21, Sheet3 became Sheet31, etc, etc.
All my work is now on the duplicated sheets: Sheet11, Sheet21, Sheet31, etc.
How did this happen?
How do I remove the unwanted sheets: Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3, etc.
How do I change the new sheets: Sheet11 to Sheet1, Sheet21 to Sheet2, etc.

Reason for this to occur would generally be linked to a macro being run.

Are you using any sort of macros within the workbook?

The safest option in my opinion would be to select the sheets that you know are correct and use Move Or Copy to make copy of the sheets into another workbook.

If you need these to stay in this workbook then I would just go through and manually delete the duplicated sheets.

Thank you for your response. The original sheets i.e. Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3, etc. are not visible on the Sheet Panel so I cannot delete them manually. The duplicated sheets i.e. Sheet11, Sheet21, Sheet 31, etc. are my working sheets. Perhaps I will have to write some VBA code to delete the original sheets.
It is interesting to note that they are present in the Object Explorer but their properties are totally different from the normal properties of Sheets that appear on the Sheet Panel.
I will try a few things and keep you informed.
Any further suggestions will be highly appreciated.

If the sheets show in object explorer but not sheet panel they may be hidden.
