I have text in a range from A5:A217. I have named this range and I can see it listed in the Name Manager. In another workbook I have a column that is using Data Validation to reference this Named Range.

What I would like, is for the Named Range to increase when I add new text to cell A218 and below, so that my other workbook will see an updated list.

I have tried with Dymanic Named Ranges but get funny results. Can anyone help?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
My 2 cents would be to use a named range like:

=Sheet1!$A$5:INDEX(Sheet1!$A:$A,MATCH(REPT("z",255),Sheet1!$A:$A))

Thanks, Jeff, that's great - saves a lot of hassle.
