I am using formula =EDATE(D5,$F$5) to generate an expiry date after a certain amount of months, in this instance its collum F stating how many months on from a selected date in collum D, however, if Collum D has no date the formula is showing as 31/12/1900 instead of VALUE or Blank?

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
That is correct, it interprets a blank cell as 0/1/1900, try
Excel Formula:
=IF(D5="","",EDATE(D5,$F$5))
