Looking to embed an excel workbook into a word doc. I already know how to link the workbook to word, but I need to have multiple users in the workbook.

I need to have multiple word docs with a independant workbook. We have a folder with multi word docs - we copy and paste them into a new folder and provide an new naming convention for that word doc. Then when the word doc is opened the embeded workbook opens for edit.

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
' Here is a (Word) macro to start with.
' I don't know about multiple users etc.

Sub GetExcelFile()
Selection.InlineShapes.AddOLEObject ClassType:="Excel.Sheet.8", FileName:= _
"c:\temp\SpaceFile.xls", LinkToFile:=True, DisplayAsIcon:=False
End Sub
