Embedded Excel Spreadsheet in a Word Document

I have an embedded Excel spreadsheet in a Word document. I need to resize the embedded spreadsheet. There are blank rows above and below the data. How can I remove the blank rows and only have the data I need.

This will probably sound like an obvious reply, but can you copy the range as values, format it the way you want, and then embed that formatted copy to the Word doc?
