Or if you just want to edit the contents of the cell, select it and press F2, do the editing, then press ENTER.

May I suggest if you're asking this sort of question that you need to be seriously considering doing some of the excellent online Excel tutorials which can be found on the Web? Google excel tutorial beginner and look at a few until you find one that you like the look and feel of.
