I have created a range name but excel will not allow me to enter it as a series value in the chart function.

Range name scope is workbook.

I have other workbooks where I have created range names that define series values in chart function, cannot understand what is preventing me now.

Any thoughts please?

Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
The SERIES formula will not accept a Name that begins with the letters C or R (or in other languages, the initials of the words for Column and Row).

You can still use these names beginning with C or R in the Select Data Source dialog.

Or you could rename your Names.
