I have a workbook which is password protected to read only level. I would like to open and modify this book as part of routine.

Workbooks.Open filename:= _
"\\ih-fs\company\Equipment Despatches\Despatch Data Costs.xlsx", _
UpdateLinks:=0

is it possible to have VBA enter this password for me?

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
I use something like this:

VBA Code:
Workbooks.Open filename:= _
"\\ih-fs\company\Equipment Despatches\Despatch Data Costs.xlsx", _
UpdateLinks:=0, writeResPassword:="<whateverthepasswordis>"

Note that the wrong password entered here will give you a 1004 error so you might want to build in an error routine.
