EOMONTH returning wrong last day of month

Needing to find the last day of a given month I found the formula EOMONTH(start-date,month(s)). When I enter EOMONTH(A2,0) (A2="1/1/2022") or EOMONTH("1-Jan-2022",0) the return value is Jan-22. Regardless of which #months I use it returns the correct month but the 22th, "Month-22". I checked the cells formatting which is "Date". Would appreciate any help.

I think "22" is your year, not your day of the month.
You just need to change the format of the cell to something that shows the day.
It sounds like you currently have the cell format set to "mmm-yy", which does not show the day (the day is really there, you just elected not to show it).
