Is there a way to either password protect an excel file from being deleted or setting it so only an authorized user would be able to delete the file. The file is on a network drive and I need everyone to have the erase option for certain reasons. That's why I was wondering if I could just assign specific files to restrict people from being able to delete them. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
As far as I know it wouldnt help to set a pw in Excel itself. The file can still be deleted. Thats something you will have to discuss with your network admin I guess.
