Tried my best to search for this but couldn't find.

I have a number of errors in my sheet, and have never had this problem before. A simple error (like div/0) is causing the green indicator to be in the cell. But, if these cells are within view, the sheet is massively unresponsive. Scrolling my mouse is like going through mud. There is a 5-10 second delay on clicking or typing anything. If they are off the screen, this is fine.

As they enter the screen (let's say 50 DIV/0s are showing), the little green triangle populates one at a time and takes about 40 seconds per cell.

I've never had this issue and have always had many errors on the sheet. I know I can prevent these triangles from showing up, but it is an Excel setting and not a workbook setting. So if I send this to a friend, they will have the same issue until they shut off the indicators.

Does anybody know what is causing this and how to fix it? I'd prefer not to error trap.

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.

Would turning off the automatic calculations help/solve the problem?

Sorry, I meant to say that I am on Manual. This isn't a calculation speed issue. I'm not even entering things into cells sometimes, just scrolling around them.

I've tried isolating the error. It seems I have one tab of formulas (nothing different than what I normally have), that when I delete, save as, close down EXCEL (not just the sheet), and re-open the saved as version, it works faster. As if that sheet was corrupt or something. Does that happen?
