I have an app that generates an ODBC error that says: "Not enough space on temporary disk". I am not out of disk space and this is not a disk error but some sort of JET resource error. I have searched and there appears no concensus on what causes this or how to fix it. It is trying to create records in a database of <300MB size. Anybody know what might cause this?

thanks

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Just wondering is this a standard MDB? On a network drive? Access UI and database or Access UI and SQL? Converted to a webapp?

Its a regular MBD. All files are on C drive and no disk space issues. The app hits the .mdb through ODBC. Its not an Acces front end.

Its an engineering aplication that uses ODBC to insulate it from the database. It can use .mdb, SQL or Oracle for data storage. The process that created the error was a data import into 2 tables. I am just trying to find ut what the error means since it is not what it says it is.

Have you checked the size of the Temp folder?

I am running windows 7 and the Temp folder is located at
C:\users\{username}\appdata\local\temp

Mine indicates a size of 141 MB. So, in theory, if an import is rather large and exceeds the Temp folder size you will get this error.

How would a folder on my C drive have a size limit (besides the free space on the disk)?
Is this a WIn7 setting?

Sorry not sure why I included that.

Yes it should be up to disk limit. Any chance the imported data could be large enough to get close to the disk limit? This would include the size of folder and the data being imported.

Any idea how much data you are actually trying to import?

Around 32MB in the input file. Have done this before with no trouble. If I hit the 2GB limits I get a different error, I am nowhere near that size on the .mdb
