I am trying to conditionally format a table a5:c24 using the EXACT function so that whenever the contents of d1 (the value of d1 is text and is the word TIME) is in this range (case sensitive) it gets highlighted.

I can't figure how to change the $A5 to something like $A5:$C5...so it would include all 3 columns. I realize I could make 3 rules, but rather have just one.

=EXACT($A5,$D$1)

Many thanks

Sorry, but I don.t understand. I should have mentioned I am on a mac, and thought a rule under conditional formatting would solve it. Your pic is unfamiliar to me though similar to mac.
Thanks

Here are couple of pics of what I have, one showing the conditional window with three 3 rules, there i 1 for col a, b, c as well as one of the rules. Is it possible to have 1 formula that will take the range and highlight each cell individually when there is a match?

Was my post#3 above what you are trying to do?
If so change your formula to:
EXACT($D$1,A5:C24)
