Hi Board

All my cells are formatted as NUMBER and to 2 decimal places.

I have 3 cells whose numbers are the result of dividing 3 other whole numbers (in other cells)by 3. It correctly shows the the answers as xxxx.33 as you would expect.

But, when I autosum the answers, the total is rounding to a whole number, when I would expect it to be xxxx.99

This only seems to be a problem when the numbers I'm summing are themselves the result of a division sum. If I enter the xxx.33 numbers into cells manually and autosum them, the answer is displayed correctly.

Is this a bug, or I am doing something wrong? Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.

Darren

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
I think because it not really xxx.33 .
Supposed 10/3 gives you 3.3333333333 that differs from 3.33 that you are typing in
