HELP!!! Just discovered a display issue in excel 2003. I have a workbook with a collection of numbers on multiple worksheets. On most tables, when a cell holds a zero in the cell, it displays as a zero. However, there are a few cells where the cell with a zero value, the cell displays as a blank cell. when I click on the cell, I can see that the value in the formula bar is zero.

I tried:
  • Copying the format from one good cell to the bad one.
  • Setting the format manually.
  • Also manually checking and confirming that the formats as the same. In fact, both format settings are General. But in the problem cell, I do not see the sample box show nothing.
  • Also, copied the bad cell to another workbook and when I do, the display looks normal.
  • Also, when I copy a good cell over the bad one, I cannot see the value.
Has anyone ever experienced this? I'm NOT new to Excel, and I've never experience this one. Any suggestions?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Click on Tools at the top and choose Options.

View tab > towards the bottom....

Is the Zero values checked?
