I am trying to print preview a large spreadsheet prior to printing and it is not displaying all the information.

The print area is set to A1:FM312 but only A1:DQ312 show in the preview and the rest of the area is blank. Column DQ also displays the borders for the whole column but colour information for only the left 75% of the column. If I resize columns then the last column in view changes, e.g. if I make a column smaller then DR will appear, if I make it larger then DQ disappears and DP becomes the last visible column.

The paper size is set to 0.89 x 4.5m on a Xerox plotter.

Is it possible that I have reached an Excel limitation?

Excel 2003, XP Professional 2002 SP2, 3GB RAM

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
I never encountered this issue but I did not print as much data as you have.

Just Curious:
What does Page Break Preview show?
How many pages are currently showing for the A1:DQ312 range in the Print Preview status bar?
What happens if you "Clear Print Area"? Does it then show the entire range you want to print?

It may be an excel limitation

Thanks for the reply.

There are no page breaks, it should all print as one very large page.

There is no difference if the print area is cleared.

I have subsequently tried the same worksheet in 2007 and it previews and prints OK (except for the colour changes of course) so I am beginning to believe that it is an Excel 2003 limitation.
