Hello all,

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.

I have two columns (A3:A50 and B3:B50). What I'm trying to do is set a condition where if: A3>B3 then A3 is highlighted - and then so forth down the entire column. I've been messing around in conditional formatting for about an hour now and just can't get it to work correctly.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
First you need to select cells A3:A50.
The Conditional Formatting needs to be set using the following formula:
=$A3=$B3
(Note that, in this particular case the "$" is not really required).
It is important to select downwards from A3 to A50 because the formula that is entered refers to the first cell selected.

Ok, feeling like a total Excel dunce again.

The above question was resolved. I was just trying to do the same thing with two rows horizontally:

Numbers in B34:R34, if they are greater than the corresponding number in B31:R31, highlight the cell in row 34.

Tried selecting B34:R34, then for my rule, =$B34>B31

However, doesn't seem to work for some reason.
