I am currently using excel 2010 and facing lot of problems with the user interface. I only see the "File,Home, Insert,Page layout and Formula" tabs on the ribbon. I tried adding the same from the excel 'options' page but I am unable to find the developer ribbon, data validation tab etc as the DATA, View, Reviw tabs are missing from the ribbon. Alternatively, I have also tried doing a right click on the ribbon and 'add buttons' but I do not get any such option when I do so. I request you to help me out with this if there is a possible solution=:confused:. Thanks.

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Moiz
from File --> options
choose Customize ribbon
then check Developer Tab
or add any tab as you want

Thanks a lot Yahya, but as I mentioned in the initial post, I do not see the tab to add developers ribbon in the 'Options' page. Is there some another workaround for this.

What do you have listed in the Main Tabs list (right hand side) of the Customize Ribbon section in Excel Options?

Hi Rory,

the problem is I do not see the 'Customize ribbon' tab in the 'Options' page. The only tabs I see on the left hand side panel of 'Options' are:
General, Formula, Proofing, Save , Language and Advanced.

1. Which version of Excel 2010 are you using?
2. Are you on a corporate network?
3. Do you have, or have you had, a trial version of Office 2010 installed?

Hi Rorya,

You are absolutely correct, I have the trial version of MS office 2010 which I got along with the laptop I bought from the outlet.

Ahh, I suspect you actually have the Starter edition of 2010, which has limited functionality. If that is the case, then you will have to upgrade to a full edition such as Home and Student.
