I want to restrict cell datum to a number between 0 and 1,000. When WHOLE NUMBER type is selected, numbers to the right of the decimal (cents) is restricted. When DECIMAL type is selected, numbers to the left of the decimal is restricted (dollars). How can I apply Data Validation that allows for both sides of the decimal point?

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
In other words: allow cell value to be: 100 or 100.00 or 100.50. But not l00 ("L" as a 1) or 100x (user types in "x" instead of "." by mistake)

hi, Normally DECIMAL allows numbers to the left. Suggest you check. Such as Decimal between 0 and 1000. regards
