Does excel 97 have a limitation when it comes to its auto filter feature? I have a column with 1171 cells and growing and I apply the auto filter, not all of the 1171
cells appear in the drop down list for filtering. The list stops at 1005.

Thanks!
Catherine

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Yep. You can see this for yourself by entering "Field1" into cell A1, a 1 in A2, and choose the Edit | Fill | Series... menu command and create a Series in Columns with a Stop value of 1001. Apply an AutoFilter to column A and take a peek at the drop down list.
