Excel Dies When opening specific workbook(s)

I have this project that i am doing and I have three workbooks that get opened up as follows:

The first one is the Application workbook that contains all the code for the application along with the mnain menu (a userform). The other two are the workbooks that get opened when a buton on the menu is clicked. The first one is a workbook that I created from an earlier version "template" copy of the second workbook so they are for different months. When the second workbook is opened I get the following error message from VBA:

Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)':

Automation Error
The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.

There are three active buttons on the form: END, DEBUG and Help. So when I click the DEBUG button Excel then crashes and dies on me.

At this point the open workbooks are left hanging open and I have close everything and reboot to force a close on the files.

This happens if I open the workbooks using either the VBA code or mannually.

I am running Excel 2000 (Version 9.0.2720) on Windows XP Pro.

The files are stored on my hard drive and are not on a network.

I have copied the files after the crashes onto a networked environment running Office 2003 Pro and Windows XP and they open fine and work as they were designed. It should be noted there are a bunch of hidden worksheets that have data and linkages to other workbooks that I no longer have available to me on my machine (Win XP and Excel 2000).

So I am wondering how to fix this problem - I am in need of some help as I have been fighting with this problem for a little bit over a week now!

Thanks In Advance for your assistance.

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
So what is with this board - I have asked for some help and no one seems to answer but others are getting some response - did I not provide enough information or what? I do need some assistance with this issue as I have exhausted all my resources both at my company my clients' offices and online research at Microsoft and other web sites as well.

Some One Please Help Me Out!

Thanks for that tidbit - It looks to be similar to my problem - at least one of the error messages listed are the same as the one that I am getting here.

Much appreciated.
