Hello, I have a large Excel file that opens and continues to display the hourglass and seems to be locked up. At the very top on the Windows Bar is says the file name like usual and then the word "[Group]". I have never seen [Group] before, this might be causing the problem. Might anyone out there know how to turn this [Group] feature off?

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
May or may not be your problem, but the 'Group' message turns up when you've got 2 or more of your worksheets 'grouped'. (i.e. you've selected the worksheet tabs while holding the ctrl or shift keys).

Ungroup the sheets (click on the tabs again...) to get rid of the message.
