I have a form with a text field, and if it contains the Character * anywhere in it I want msgbox to come up saying it is not allowed. How can I do this?

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
use the INSTR() Function

example

A = "12*"

instr(A,"*") would return 3

so use something like

If Instr(Your_Text_Box_NAME,"*") > 0 Then
POP A MESSAGE, BEEP, Return to Code, Whatever you want to do
ENDIF
