Excel freezes every time I try to format cells

Every time I try to format cells excel frezes. This also happens if i try to change type to bold etc. i am getting no codes or anything. Any ideas?

Can you try a different printer driver (they affect display too)?

Im on a network in a college. Its happening to a number of the computers in the room , about 5 out of 26. There has been a printer change recently if that makes any difference?

Do you have a printer like the Microsoft XPS writer that you can temporarily set as the default to test?
