Excel freezing when pasting text into a cell?

Hey everyone.

I seem to be have a bit of a strange one.

When I paste some text into a cell excel freezes. The text in question is just under 4000 characters.

I've checked the Mem Usage in task manager and I have found that that it is increasing by about 1mb every second.

Anyone know how or why this could be happening.

where are you copying the text from? If it is from another application like a web browser, then you can be copying in way more than just the text.

try a paste special of just text and see how that goes.
