Excel not opening

hi all,

i have just ran a macro file and now i am not able to open excel by double clicking on excel icon. and each time i click on excel file icon it opens a new instance on excel however i am able to open the file by clicking on file-open-filename. but it doesn't open automatically. one more thing i have noticed on clicking on shortcut icon it gives message that file is not at so and so path, please search the file name.


how can i fix this when i hae no right click acess and i am working on network server where excel root file is store on main server.

please help to fix this.

One possibility: Tools > Options > General tab > make sure that Ignore other applications is not ticked.

thanks a ton.........i knew that but could not recall it. thanks again it's working fine now

Try This hope it will work.

Go to "Windows task manager" and then go to "Processes" and click on Excel.exe and end the process .

Now Try to open excel file by double clicking.
