How do I get zero's to remain in front of another number in the cell?
ex: 001
002
003
 

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Two ways:

You can format your cells as text and enter the zeros, or

You can choose Format>Cells. Select the custom format option. In the Type box, enter

000

This will display zeros before any 1 or 2 digit number entered
