Excel Objects vs. Text

I'm working with a home grown application that has a rich text section that has reverse DDL or intelligence in rich text control. When copy/pasting an Excel cell which is in text format, the application treats it as an object rather than plain text and pastes as a .gif image. To get plain text, I have to highlight the cell, then click/drag the content up in the Formula to properly paste the text into the application.

Do any of you know how to get around this so I can simply copy/paste the actual cell and be able to paste it as text rather than an image?

Thanks!

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
When you get to Excel, right click and select "Paste Special" instead of "Paste." You should then be able to select "Text" to paste only that.

I'm not pasting back within Excel... I'm pasting outside of Excel to another application.
