Hi All, Im new here. Wonder if anyone can help me with this. I wanted to have a formula that divides by no of rows at the top.
Example:
Row 1
Row 2
Row 3
Row 4 (I have a Sum formula that divides by number of rows at the top, in this case its 3)

I could have doing the sum formula divide by 3, and then change the 3 to 4 and 5,6,7,8 etc whenever i insert a new row. However, its extremely tedious to do that. Reckon perhaps a countif formula might work, but have no idea how to do it. Apppreciate if any expert here could offer some help.

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple

Welcome to the Board!

This might do it for you:
Book5
ABCD
11
22
33
44
55
62
76
87
9
103.75
11
12=SUM(Range)/COUNTA(Range)
Sheet1

Hope that helps,

Hello sky77,
If you have your sum in ,Say Column D - then you try this formula in Column E "=(D1/(ROW()-1))" (without quotes). This will work except for the first row. (In the first row it is division by zero)
