Hi,

If you have numbers in each cell going down eg:

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 56pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=75 border=0><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 56pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 2742" width=75><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl64 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; WIDTH: 56pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=75 height=17>1</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl64 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>2</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl64 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>3</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Normally I would click on the 3, hold down the mouse and pull down the page and would get
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 56pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=75 border=0><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 56pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 2742" width=75><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl66 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; WIDTH: 56pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=75 height=17>4</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl66 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>5</TD></TR><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl66 style="BORDER-RIGHT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-TOP: windowtext; BORDER-LEFT: windowtext 0.5pt solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: windowtext 0.5pt solid; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" height=17>6</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> automatically.

Today it just sticks on the same number. Does anyone know why?

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Try blocking 1,2and 3 and then drag down using the fill handle.

Hi,

Highlight 1, 2 and 3....then drag down. That should sort it. Don't just select the 3

Try typing 1, 2, 3 and 4 in different column and then block and copy down. Is the result any different?

In Tools, options, edit tab,

allow cell drag and drop is checked isn't it?

Works for me - I tested on a new sheet?

If it's repeating 1,2,3 then try holding the Ctrl key as you drag down.
