Excel Running Slowly

I've seen a similar topic to this posted before, but while it was a similar problem it wasn't related to mine too closely.

Basically, I've created a file that is 686 KB, so not very large but i'm using a lot of conditional formatting and i've also been forced to use the camera tool to be able to put my cells over a picture. I think that these two in conjunction with each other have caused my spreadsheet to become very slow. I've already checked every cell to see if the conditional formatting has doubled up anywhere and it hasn't.

It's gotten to the point that if I type anything on a random cell that isnt involved with the formatting etc and then hit enter I have to wait about 8 seconds before I can do anything else.

I've tried putting it into manual calculation mode but no changes, i've also tried putting the file on my C drive in case it was the network here that was causing issues, but still no difference.

Does anyone know of any tips that may help speed this up? I'm still editing the file and it's taking a very long time. I did notice that it became worse when I started using the camera tool, but any other method i've tried to get my cells over a picture hasn't worked out well with printing. Next thing im trying is to delete all the camera tool pictures until the end...maybe that will work but i'd prefer to not have to do that every time i edit this

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Just as a test ( make a copy of your workbook first ), delete all the camera tool objects.

While you are doing that, see if there is one particular camera tool object that causes your problem. It may be that you are placing a camera tool object over the region it references causing an recursion of the display calc.

It was the camera tools...to fix it I deleted all of them, finished the part I needed to edit and then re-did all of the camera tool parts.

As soon as I have about 2-3 camera tool pics it runs slowly. Excel seems to refresh every camera tool pic whenever you do anything in any part of the workbook, instead of only refreshing when something changes in the spot it's targeted at which would be logical and wouldn't cause this issue.

But we have to deal with what we get, that's life.
