Hi Guys,

My first time posting here , so be kind :p

I am trying to run a simple excel solver problem. but no matter what querry i run, Solver just returns my own inputs as the optimum answer. And my inputs arent exactly the most optimum.

Please see the images below for clarification.

The image without solver is my manual input.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
you used "nonlinear..." as solving method, what happens if you choose "simplex" ?

Can you (1 of these options)
- add your excel file as a link (with OneDrive, Google, ... as external drive)
- add an example with the XL2BB-tool
- describe your solver-restrictions

Hi,

I am trying to minimize the count of items

This item count is dependent on the mix of sales and order lines.

My Variables are the percentage allocated to ABC and XYZ. ( item count is calculated based on the selection of ABXY)

My contraints are :-
Sales percentage (Next to Item Count) needs to be atleast 55%
Order Lines Percentage needs to be atleast 40%
ABC Percentage allocation should equal a total 100%
XYZ Percentage Allocation should equal a total 100%

The concept being - I want to optimize the percentage allocation to ABXY in particular such that I get a selection of minimum items that have atelast 55% sales and 40% order Lines

Can't you upload your file or a representative lookalike ?
I can't reconstruct your problem with the details you gave.
