i'm trying to find or create an Excel (XP - 2007) template into which i can punch a list of of stock symbols and have it return all the basic info (current price, hi/low last 52 weeks, etc) along with the DIVIDENDS (sometimes referred to as YIELD) paid. I have found a number of easily importable updatable templates from various websites that i have imported into excel, but i can't get one the automatically imports the current dividend/yield. (I have previous used a generic template and then manually typed in all the dividend rates, however the rates change and my grid will not (obviously, since i manually inputted them).

thank you.

unzip the file and save unzipped file. one of the files is help(instructions file). follow those instructions.
one of the files in an .xla (that is add in file). you have to add in this add in your excel . in excel sheet click tool-addin
in the addin window click browse and go to your folder where this addin file is parked and open this .xla file and this will come into you addinlist. check this if it is not already cheeked.

follow instruction in instructions file. You an also get assistnace form Randy Hamerlink also and you can post back in this forum

I'm using Excel 2007, so TOOLS isn't an option, however I went to another site to find out how to add ADD INs in Excel 2007 and i've added in the file. However there are no instructions in the zip file. There is just the ADD IN, an "get element number" spreadsheet and 10 smf-elements files.
Now that i have this ADD IN active in my worksheet, how do i use it?

thank you.

Yes, I already found instructions on how to install the add in and installed it. and when i try to use the template for dividends i get an error message that it can't find the yahoo file.

I am quite sure you must have added the yahoo code for dividend if there is one. Still if there is problem you can write to Randy, his email is some where or you can write yahoo codes addressing it to Randy they will forward it to him and he will reply. I never used "dividends" in my file.
