Excel table - structred reference

Hi All. I am trying to use a table for lookup purposes. Other than the #This Row, #Totals etc...there is no method of looking up an individual row?

My current approach is =INDEX(ClientTable,MATCH("Client1",A:A),MATCH("Item4",1:1))

Ideas?

How about VLOOKUP?

Or do you specifically want to access an item on the client's row using the item's name from the top of the column?

What's wrong with your current method? If you find it bothersome to type it repeatedly you could turn it into a user-defined function (UDF).
