Hi all,

(This has been posted before I'm sure but the site advised me to start a new thread as it was so old)

I'm also in Australia and hence the date is formatted dd-mmm-yy (14-Apr-22) and, despite using the TEXT(MONTH) function, Excel still treats any month as January.
I've attached a screenshot of what I mean - I've checked that the date cell is a number (ISNUMBER) and it's TRUE. The cell is also formatted as a date. I'm using Excel 365 (online) btw

It's driving me crazy! Any help is much appreciated, as I need to create a chart from this and Excel treats all months as January

Thanks!
Steve

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
With E3 = 21-Apr-22, MONTH(E3) = 4
TEXT(4,"mmmm") = TEXT("4-jan-1900","mmmm") = JAN

You may need only:
Code:
=TEXT(E3,"mmmm")

Solution
With E3 = 21-Apr-22, MONTH(E3) = 4
TEXT(4,"mmmm") = TEXT("4-jan-1900","mmmm") = JAN

You may need only:
Code:
=TEXT(E3,"mmmm")
Oh man it was that easy! A simple fix but much appreciated, thankyou
