I am currently running Excel 2003 at home and work. I anticipate upgrading to 2007 during the next year.

If I purchase an Excel 2007 book will I be able to apply some of what
I learn using my current environment?

Also, which do you recommend as a replacement for my battered version of Excel 2000 Formulas? Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Formulas & Functions For Dummies or Excel 2007 Formulas.

I greatly appreciate your guidance.

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Hi

1. Yes, but there are some differences (eg chart code comes to mind for one). Also, you don't have a ribbon in 2003 so none of that will apply. You don't have to remove xl2003 to upgrade to xl2007 so I would run both versions on your computer. That way you get the best of both worlds.

2. I quite like John Walkenbach's book. But I have to be honest, if it's sophisticated formulas you are after, just search on this board for posts by Aladin Akyurek and Barry Houdini. Their formulas are so far beyond anything you will find in a book.

thanks!

I always look to this site for advanced solutions. Aladin has been helpful to me on more than one occassion.

The book will be a reference for those days when I forget my basics (formulas and functions).
