I have an IF statement I am using in Excel to compare two columns of information: A = 2008 Term against B = 2009 Terms. I have a third column where I put the following formula:

=If(A2=B2,"Updated") It works great in Excel. The problem I have is that the file that I update regularly in Excel is very large and there's a lot of manipulation each time; I want to move it to Access. Will this IF statement work in a query in Access??? I presented a couple questions expressed two different ways the Access portion of Mr. Excel, but haven't gotten any hits yet . . . thought maybe I'd try the excel experts.

Help is much appreciated.

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Hi, Buck.

Maybe try an alternative approach? Such as an SQL UPDATE statement. This avoids using formulas. It could be done using MS Query or preferably ADO. I'll write some sample code. SQL would be like
Code:
UPDATE table
SET C = 'Updated'
WHERE A = B
Can be done on closed files or open files. It would be a similar approach in MS Access, BTW.

I think, I might know what you mean. I haven't used Access for 3 years . . . it's like learning all over again. I'll give it a try, thanks!
